Dr. Stephen W. Brown (Emeritus)

After teaching practical ministry courses for almost two decades, Dr. Steve Brown retired from RTS and remains Emeritus Professor of Preaching. He continues to teach occasional courses on pastoral ministry and communication. 

Dr. Brown served as the senior pastor of Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church in South Florida for 17 years. He is a popular preacher, conference speaker and author. Dr. Brown has published more than a dozen books about Christian life and ministry. Recent works include Three Free Sins: God's Not Mad at You, A Scandalous Freedom: The Radical Nature of the Gospel and What Was I Thinking? Things I’ve Learned Since I Knew It All. Students appreciate Dr. Brown's relentless emphasis on grace and his willingness to share both humorous and heart-wrenching real-world examples.

Having had extensive radio experience before becoming a pastor, Dr. Brown founded Key Life Network, a ministry that presents honest and thoughtful biblical teaching through radio broadcasts, podcasts, seminars and publications. Dr. Brown hosts a 15-minute national radio show called "Key Life" each weekday, a weekly talk show called “Steve Brown, Etc.” and a one-minute feature called “Now You Think About That." He serves on the Board of the National Religious Broadcasters and Harvest USA.
