Rev. Kevin Twit Teaching Hymnody in August

The Rev. Kevin Twit will teach a one credit hour course The History of Hymnody at RTS Atlanta. The class will meet on Friday, August 11 from 3 pm until 9 pm and Saturday, August 12 from 9 am to 4 pm. The course will give students an overview of the history of hymnody and will teach how to use the rich treasury of hymns better to enrich worship for today’s church.  Please contact Dr. Jonathan Stuckert at or 770-952-8884 to register for credit or as an auditor.

Rev. Twit is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and Covenant Theological Seminary. He worked in the music industry for several years both as a guitarist and recording engineer. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister and has been the RUF Campus Minister at Belmont University since 1995. In 1999, he began Indelible Grace Music with some of his Belmont students, including Andy Osenga, Emily Deloach, Sandra McCracken, Matthew Smith, and many others.

Indelible Grace has been at the heart of the “retuned hymn movement” to reset old hymn texts to new music. They have made 9 CDs as well as a documentary film, “Roots And Wings: The Story Of Indelible Grace And The RUF Hymns.” Rev. Twit is married to Wendy, and they have 3 children, including a daughter they adopted from China in 2005. Kevin teaches classes in hymnody as an adjunct Professor at Covenant Seminary and Belmont University and has lectured widely on the topics of hymns and worship.
