Dr. Ligon Duncan, the Distinguished Visiting Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at RTS Jackson, Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Jackson, and plenary speaker at the popular conference Together for the Gospel (T4G), will be teaching Covenant Theology this spring.
Covenant Theology explores the topic of God’s covenantal relationships with man. A covenant can be loosely defined as a sovereignly administered bond between two parties; in the Bible, covenants undergird God's gracious relationship with sinful man. The course will examine the various covenants throughout Scripture including the covenant with Moses, the covenant with David, and the New Covenant, amongst other related issues. You can watch the video to the left to learn more about the course from Ligon himself.
The class meets on Thursdays from 3 – 5pm, January 30 through May 4, and it is a required course for our MDIV and MA degrees. Are you interested in learning more about God’s covenantal interactions with man? Contact Kim Lee at klee@rts.edu. The audit fee for this three credit hour course is $150.
