What is the Schedule for the D.Min. Degree?
Classroom times are set up to meet the realistic needs of persons who already have full ministry schedules. One-week intensive courses (required and elective courses) are offered in January and July of every year (see schedule here) Students have four years to complete the eight courses - most students take one course per term but are free to take two courses in a term if time allows. Two additional years are allowed for finishing the final D.Min. project after the course work is completed.
The total time allotted to complete the degree is six years - students may finish in less time than this and may receive up to three one-year extensions to complete the degree.
Historical-Theological Studies at RTS-Charlotte
The Charlotte campus of RTS allows students to do work in the Historical-Theological field as well as in Practical Theology. Each year we offer elective courses in the areas of Church History and Theology due to significant student interest in these fields. While the D.Min. is an advanced degree in Practical Theology, it is an integrative degree like the M.Div. program. Students may take electives and write the doctoral project in Historical-Theological Studies.
