CURRENT MINISTRY AND UNRESTRICTED PURPOSES

The windows are wide open, not just here at home. They are open in China, Japan, Ukraine, Turkey, Czech Republic, Brazil, Greece and Russia. Already we have teaching partnership programs in Korea, Brazil, Scotland, Russia, Asia and China. We have top quality staff and a superior faculty. And there are others we could hire tomorrow to help in our expanding theological and leadership education.

It has been said, “As goes the seminary so goes the church”. We need to add, “As goes the Church, so goes culture and the free world”. We are strategically well placed to engage the future of biblical, Reformed seminary education.

Current operating funds are available for use in the year they are received. Like income from unrestricted endowment, gifts for the unrestricted current ministry fund allow the seminary to support core training programs as well as respond to the changing economic climate and to the special needs in the annual budget. Funds for this purpose are sought largely through the seminary’s annual fund program, Friends of RTS.

In faith, the campaign seeks $25,000,000 unrestricted funds for current ministry over the five years of the Campaign.

Endowment Type Funds for Ongoing Operating Costs

The financial campaign will provide additional endowment-type funds where the earnings will support increasing operating costs and expanded support for all campus programs

In addition to unrestricted current ministry funds, endowment type funds provide much needed expendable support for designated areas across all campuses and extensions. Whether designated for current scholarship needs at a particular campus or to support a lecture series or other special program, endowment type gifts for current operations greatly enhance the seminary’s ability to provide a quality program each year.

Endowment type funds in the amount of $25,000,000 are included in the campaign totals over the five years of the campaign.
