Matthew 9:37 Scholarship FundOne of the greatest needs of the seminary is scholarship funds to help assist needy ministerial students and their families. Many RTS students hold one or more part-time jobs. And, unless a couple has small children, the spouses of ministerial students work to meet their needs. Yet, they still find it difficult to make ends meet and they turn to the seminary to help provide that extra needed assistance. Because they are at seminary for only a few years, that are not always able to get high paying jobs but must rely on temporary work that pays little more than minimum wage.
We try to discourage students from taking out loans for seminary because the expected salary of young pastors is usually not enough to provide for the repayment of loans. In other cases, outstanding loans can prevent students from entering missions service until their loans are paid off which can be years. RTS accepts no government or state funding. The financial resources we have to help needy students come from the Lord’s people. We are able to provide only those funds which you allow us to make available to students through your gifts. One of our newest funds that you may wish to contribute to is the Matthew 9:37 Scholarship Fund. Learn more about this fund here.
