Degree Programs - M.A. in Christian Counseling

RTS Charlotte offers four different options for students to receive training in counseling. Students are able to choose the degree program which best prepares them for their individual calling, whether it be pastoral ministry, pastoral counseling, campus ministry, chaplaincy, or other para-church ministry organizations.
1 Year Certificate in Christian Counseling (32 Credit Hours)
Designed for non-degree seeking students, the Certificate gives students the ability to gain further training in counseling to benefit their church or other ministry organization

2 Year Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (66 Credit Hours)
The MACC degree emphasizes the proper interpretation of Scripture as the foundation for all effective counseling. Students will take 34 units of bible and theology classes in addition to receiving specialized training in counseling.

3 Year Master of Divinity, Emphasis in Counseling (106 Credit Hours)
Adding an emphasis in counseling to their MDiv prepares students well to care for the souls of God’s people. This degree is particularly valuable for those looking to minister in a campus or chaplaincy setting.

4 Year MDiv/MACC Dual Degree (139 Credit Hours)
Students may receive two masters degrees within four years of study. This popular degree program is designed for future pastors and ministry leaders who want excellent training in preparation for exegesis, preaching, and counseling.
