Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael A. Milton as the new President and Professor of Practical Theology at RTS-Charlotte. Presently the senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tenn., Dr. Milton is also an author of several books and has a radio ministry called Faith for Living. He has earned a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Wales, Lampeter, an M.Div. from Knox Seminary and a B.A. from Mid America Nazarene University. Also he is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. Milton planted and pastored two churches, founded a Christian school and was the administrative head at one time for Knox Theological Seminary. Before his call to preach, Milton served 16 years in the business world and was also a top secret Navy linguist. Mike, his wife and son have resided in Signal Mountain, TN, and plan to move to Charlotte in January 2008 and begin his ministry at RTS around Feb. 1.

For the new President of RTS Charlotte, I am thrilled that the Lord has led to us Mike Milton, someone with a wide breadth of ministry experience along with proven leadership ability and godly character. All of us at RTS rejoice and look forward to serving beside Mike and his family as we seek to prepare faithful and effective leaders for the church with a mind for truth and a heart for God.

I am deeply humbled to be called as President and Professor of Practical Theology for RTS-Charlotte. As a pastor and a churchman I have appreciated seeing how the Lord has used this great school to raise up a new generation of Gospel ministers and other Christian workers who are committed to the Scriptures, the Great Commission and the Reformed faith. To now be a part of this movement of God in our time is a great honor. It is an added blessing that we can become part of the Charlotte ministry team of RTS. What a beautiful city! What a great opportunity! I can't wait to get started!
