Pastors (and Ministry Leaders) in Training
Thursdays | 12:00n-1:00p | Faculty Conference RoomPIT is a Weekly Forum that seeks to address “all those things they (supposedly) never taught me in seminary.” It aims to be the most practical hour in seminary.
These days pastoral ministry and ministry leadership is more complex than ever. At RTSO, we have a desire to see our students enter ministry with the best preparation possible. PIT has become part of that preparation. It is a weekly interactive, guided discussion covering topics that may not come up in a typical seminary class, but come up in real life.
With over 40 years of combined pastoral ministry, President Don Sweeting and Professor Bob Orner will lead a guided discussion over a “brown bag” lunch and address key topics from their personal experience, with insights from Scripture, church history and best practices.
Topics will be posted in the beginning of the semester. There will be opportunity for questions, disagreements, and exploration. At the end of each meeting students will be given practical handouts by each of our facilitators. Occasionally working pastors and ministry leaders will be brought in to enhance the discussion.
Bring your own lunch and join us for a weekly PIT stop.

Conversation Clubs

Ven, trae tu propio almuerzo y practica con hispano-hablantes en un ambiente muy amigable. El único requisito es querer hablar mejor y practicar el español. English Conversation Club
All international students who speak English as a second language are cordially invited to attend our brand new English Conversation Club. We will meet every other Monday in the Parlor from 12:00n to 12:50p (Spanish Conversation Club meets the alternating Monday). Our first meeting will be September 17, 2012. Come bring your lunch and practice your English with fluent English speakers in a very friendly atmosphere. The only requirement is the desire to speak English better and practice it. Native English speakers who have an interest in serving our international students by helping them practice are welcome. Monthly Ambassadors Prayer Meeting
First Thursdays of the month | 12:15-12:50p | Parlor
Prayer meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month in the Parlor from 12:15a – 12:50p. You do not need to be an Ambassador to join us—everyone is welcome to attend. Andrew Vacca, RTS Ambassadors President, will be leading us in prayer.
Our mission as RTS Ambassadors is one of presence and prayer. At RTS events we welcome, greet, help our community and guests, and we meet once a month to pray specifically for the RTS Orlando leadership, faculty, staff, and student body.
Ultimate Frisbee!
Join us Thursdays at 4pm for pickup Ultimate Frisbee. Get some exercise and meet new friends. We meet on the field behind the chapel.
