Dr. Michael A. Milton accepted the call to become the President and Professor of Practical Theology of Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte on November 1, 2007, after serving as 12th Senior Pastor (since 1840) of the historic First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Prior to that Milton founded two churches (in Kansas and Georgia) and a Christian school (Westminster Academy in Overland Park, KS).
Mike Milton’s multi-media ministry from First Presbyterian, Chattanooga, continues at RTS through The Call with Mike Milton. Dr. Milton’s personal story of moving from orphan & a prodigal son to understanding God’s grace and receiving his adoption through Jesus Christ, forms a motif for offering Christ’s healing to a broken generation.
Often his sermons are illustrated with songs that he writes, sings, and performs with guitar. His second recording, He Shall Restore, was released in 2006 under the label Music for Missions and is distributed through iTunes.
In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Milton holds a commission in the U.S. Army Reserves as a chaplain. He resides with his wife and son in the Charlotte area.
Dr. Milton is the author of the books:
