What are the theological distinctives of RTS?

RTS is not denominationally affiliated, and we have students from many denominations. Yet as a confessional school, RTS faculty subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith as the guide for teaching historic Christian doctrine.
Can I afford to study at RTS Jackson?

Yes. In addition to the low cost of tuition and strong financial aid, Jackson has one of the lowest costs of living in the nation. Campus housing also provides value and convenience, reducing costs and commutes.
How can I receive financial aid?

Aid is for full time students who demonstrate financial need. Nearly all RTS students receive some sort of financial aid through grants or partnerships. We do not accept any federal grants or aid or any kind.
What is the community at RTS Jackson like?

RTS Jackson has a vibrant and close knit campus community. Chapel, athletics, campus housing, Women in Ministry, faculty-led prayer groups, and other student activities promote student interaction beyond the classroom.
What do athletics look like at RTS Jackson?

RTS Jackson has a lit soccer field, lit tennis courts, and a gym that includes basketball and racquetball courts, a weight room, and locker rooms. Weekly events currently include ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
Can I live on campus?

Yes. RTS Jackson has on-campus apartments and suites available for married and single students. Additionally, RTS Jackson has more than 70 townhomes less than 2 miles away for families or couples looking for more living space.
Will I get time with the faculty?

Each Thursday an hour is set aside for students to pray with their faculty advisor. Faculty frequently eat with students on campus and at home, participate in campus athletics, and are available in their offices throughout the week.
What opportunities do area churches provide?

Jackson has a wide variety of Gospel-preaching evangelical churches, including over 20 reformed churches. Ministry opportunities abound, including regular preaching opportunities and a variety of internships.
Why study counseling at RTS over a secular program?

The MFTC program doesn’t view counseling simply as an occupation; it’s a calling. Scripture is our guide for understanding counseling theory which, in turn, leads to socially-relevant, competent, and spiritually-passionate practice.
