Bio

Bruce P. Baugus, who joined the faculty in 2008, serves as Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Theology and Dean of Chapel.  He grew up on Maryland's eastern shore and was converted while studying at Penn State (B.S. Geography, 1996).  Bruce married Tricia Apple upon completing his undergraduate degree and promptly enrolled at Southern Seminary (M.Div., 1999).  He served as pastor of a small congregation in Cumberland, Maryland, for four years before returning to school to study Philosophical and Moral Theology at Calvin Theological Seminary (Ph.D., 2009).  Bruce loves to teach and enjoys interacting with students in and out of the classroom.  Prior to joining the RTS faculty he served as a regular adjunct at Cornerstone University for five years and occasionally at Calvin College and Seminary, all in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He and Tricia have two sons, Nathanael and Bryant, a feisty Maine Coon, a shared wanderlust, and fond memories of mild summers and snowy winters.  He is also a ruling elder in the PCA.
