Bio

Dr. Paul B. Long, Jr., is a pastor-teacher with ministry experience in Mississippi, Portugal, Poland, Brazil, and Alabama, with significant roles in teaching, leadership, and strategic ministry development.

Born to missionary parents, Paul’s childhood was spent in the Belgian Congo (Africa) and his teen years in interior Brazil (South America). He returned to the States to study at Belhaven and Wheaton College, completing seminary studies at Reformed Thelogical Seminary. After serving a two-church rural pastorate in Alabama, Paul began missionary service in Europe in 1979. Married in 1980, Paul and Mary Jo served in church planting ministry in Lisbon, Portugal until 2001. From 1993 to 1997, now with 4 children born in Portugal, the Longs moved to Warsaw, Poland for 4 years a ministry in which they had a part in the forming of both a Polish as well as an international church.

Returning to the States in 2001, the Longs moved to Mississippi in order for Paul to earn a PhD at RTS, where he has continued teaching missions and directing doctoral programs at RTS, as well as serving as adjunct professor of Bible and missions at Belhaven College.
