Spiritual Life Conference Schedule

RTS Jackson's Annual Spiritual Life Conference on March 1-2 will feature Dr. Carl Trueman. Dr. Trueman will speak on the subject “Christianity and Its Discontents”, which will focus on three current cultural impulses toward the destruction of Christianity — the reconfiguring of personhood, the denial of mortality, and western society’s tendency toward cultural amnesia. The conference is free to attend and is open to the public.

Tuesday, March 1
12:00-1:00 pm — "Who Are You?" (Patterson's Porch)

Wednesday, March 2
11:00 am-12:00 pm — "The Art of Amnesia" (Chapel)
12:00-1:00 pm — "The Denial of Death" (Patterson's Porch)

Rev. Dr. Carl R. Trueman (PhD, Aberdeen) holds the Paul Woolley Chair of Church History and is professor of church history at Westminster Theological Seminary. He has written more than a dozen books, and is currently co-editing with Bruce Gordon the Oxford Handbook of Calvin and Calvinism due in 2017. Dr. Trueman also writes online regularly at firstthings.com on contemporary issues such as religious freedom, identity politics, and the state of the church.
