RTS Jackson Holds 51st Convocation

On August 24, RTS Jackson celebrated its 51st Convocation. Students, faculty, and friends of RTS gathered in Grace Chapel to celebrate the beginning of RTS’s academic year, and Dr. Bruce Baugus delivered the Convocation address, entitled “Coram Scriptura, Coram Deo: Spiritual Despair and Exegetical Defiance in Life, Study, and Ministry.” After the service, those in attendance enjoyed fellowship over lunch at Patterson’s Porch.

At this year’s Convocation, Ken and Barb Larson donated a rare Torah scroll to RTS.  In the afternoon Dr. Scott Carroll, a leading expert in rare biblical papyri and scrolls, led a Colloquium.  Attendees had the unique opportunity to gain experiential knowledge of biblical artifacts by examining and exploring the donated scroll personally.

We invite you to watch Dr. Baugus' Convocation address below, or listen here.
