AALI Presents: Race, Memory, and How We Are Still Fighting the Civil War

The African American Leadership Initiative is pleased to announce this thought-provoking event on Monday, February 13. Dr. Otis Pickett will cover major themes related to the civil war, including how White and African American southerners are still processing it, and how northern communities have forgotten it. He will also explore how we are still fighting the war today (e.g. through racial division, confederate flag issues, and confederate imagery), as well as how that period in American cultural history affected the religious landscape that we have inherited today. We hope you'll join us for this important topic!

Potluck at 5:30 p.m. at Patterson's Porch (A-P: Main Dish, Q-Z: Dessert)
