Dr. Sean Lucas to teach History of Christianity II, March 7-10

RTS Memphis is pleased to announce that Dr. Sean Lucas will teach History of Christianity II as a 4-day intensive, March 7-10. This course will be invaluable to any interested in taking the course for credit or as an auditor.

Dr. Lucas, Chancellor's Professor of Church History, comments that “often, we engage in ministry longing to have pastoral wisdom and insight into various situations that we face. But where are we to find such wisdom? To be sure, we can ask ministry mentors or look at various ministry models. But church history provides a ready source of pastoral wisdom and insight—what one church history teacher called “the wisdom of age”—that might assist younger ministry leaders today. In History of Christianity II, we explore developments in doctrine, worship, piety, and mission from the sixteenth century to the present, always with an eye to the practice of ministry. Our goal isn’t simply to have a set of names, dates, and places (as important as they may be) but rather demonstrable growth in pastoral wisdom, which is a key goal of all theological education."

This 4-day intensive course will meet from 8:00am to 6:30pm each day, Wednesday through Saturday, March 7-10. The course is open for online registration to take for credit. To audit the course for $150 or for any other questions please email jlewis@rts.edu for assistance.
