Summer Reformation Lectures

Dr. David Swanson will present a lecture entitled “Reforming Preaching” that addresses the ways in which the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century recast the significance of biblical preaching and reshaped its practice in line with basic evangelical commitments. A time of discussion will follow the lecture.

The lecture will be held 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 in the Reformation Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Directions may be found here, and free parking (when ticket is validated at the church’s front desk) can be found here. The event is free and open to the public.

The Rev. Dr. David D. Swanson is the Senior Pastor and Head of Staff of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Prior to his arrival in Orlando, he served two pastorates: the first in Signal Mountain, TN as an Associate for both youth ministry and discipleship; the second in Ft. Myers, FL as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff. He and his wife, Leigh, have three children: John David, Alex, and Kaylee. His sermons, articles, and several books may be found at

This will be the first in a series of Summer Reformation Lectures presented by Reformed Theological Seminary in this year where we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. For more events marking the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, see this link
