BRUCE P. BAUGUS is associate professor of philosophy and theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he teaches courses in systematic theology, philosophical theology, ethics, and apologetics since 2008. A teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), he is a past moderator of the Presbytery of Mississippi Valley and chairs that body's Credentials Committee.
Born in Easton, Maryland, Bruce holds degrees from Penn State (BS in geography, 1996), Southern Seminary (MDiv, 1999), and Calvin Theological Seminary (PhD, philosophical and moral theology, 2009). A former pastor, he has also served as a ruling elder on sessions of PCA churches in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jackson, Mississippi. He often teaches overseas and has served several institutions as an adjunct professor, including Belhaven University where he regularly teaches contemporary theology, ethics, and logic.
He is the editor of China’s Reforming Churches: Mission, Polity, and Ministry in the Next Christendom (Grand Rapids: Reformation Heritage Books, 2014), author of a number of articles, papers, and reviews, and writes for reformation21.org.
Bruce is married to Tricia, who teaches their two sons, Nathanael and Bryant, at home. She is also active in Women in Ministry at RTS, tutors for Sons of the King, and teaches and plays piano. When not working, you can find some or all of “the Baugi” swimming, sailing, kayaking, disc-golfing, or attempting to play soccer; walking, bike-riding, or long-boarding around town; and reading, knitting, or playing games at home.
