Update on Danny Iverson's Relief Effort Team that Went to Japan
May 16, 2011
In our March RTS E-Newsletter we reported on a team headed up by RTS/Orlando M.Div. student Danny Iverson, IV, that went to Japan from RTS. You may be keeping up with his Web site www.spendyourself.org, but if you missed these updates, the story continues. Danny and his team were able to raise $115,000, which is being invested in assisting and empowering the local churches they partnered with while they were in Japan. They are helping those churches help their communities and bear witness to the Gospel. He says the global church must now seek to empower and assist the local church in Japan to serve their community.

These videos were done by videographer Shane Burgett from Shane Burgett Productions in Sanford, Fla., who is also a team member.
So what's next? Two team members, Isaac Knopp (college buddy of Danny's and M.Div. student at another seminary) and RTS M.Div. student Tim Bentson will soon return to Japan. They ask for prayers for 20 teams to go to Japan this summer and share the love of Christ by helping with clean up, distributing supplies, and sharing God's Message of Hope. They will connect the teams with local churhces and ministries and have an interpreter to guide the teams once they arrive. They need local leaders from churches in the States to step up and recruit a team. For more info, go to their Web site where you will see two large red buttons that say "I Want to Go" and "I Want to Give." As Danny said in one of his blogs "What if there were no churches in Japan?"
