Institute for Reformed Campus Ministry- Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is a central component of the IRCM. Its members use their many years of campus ministry experience to provide vision, direction, and guidance to future campus ministers at RTS Charlotte. In addition, some of the Advisory Board members regularly teach a number of the specialized courses that focus on college ministry. This advisory group includes the following people:

 Dr. Rod Culbertson, Associate Professor of Practical Theology at RTS Charlotte and Director of the IRCM: Rod began Reformed University Fellowship in the state of Florida in 1980 and served ten years as RUF campus minister at the University of Florida. Rod presently chairs the Florida statewide RUF committee and teaches Practical Theology at RTS Charlotte.
 
 
Rod Mays, Coordinator of Reformed University Ministries
: Rod serves as the Coordinator of Reformed University Ministries. Having served as a pastor for many years, Rod is also a regular Visiting Lecturer at RTS Charlotte, has contributed articles to Tabletalk and Modern Reformation, and is the coauthor of Things That Cannot Be Shaken.
 
JR Foster, Southeast Area Coordinator for Reformed University Ministries
J.R. serves as the southeast Area Coordinator for Reformed University Ministries, a position he has held since 2010.  Prior to his current role, he was a Reformed University Fellowship campus minister for 11 years at Florida State and Virginia Tech.  J.R. is a graduate of Clemson University and RTS-Charlotte.  He and his wife Eliza have been married since 1995 and live with their three children in Greenville, SC.
 
Polly Stone, Director of Institutional Assessment for RTS; former RUF Staff at Clemson University in Clemson, SC
:  After serving on the RUF leadership team for four years as a college student, Polly was an RUF staff member for two years at Clemson University working alongside David Sinclair.  There she ministered to female college students through Bible studies, discipling and mentoring relationships, and leadership development.  Polly received her M.A. in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte.  She currently serves her church as Director of Christian Education and is a Bible Study teacher and speaker.
 
Ken Currie, Director of Campus Outreach in Minneapolis, MN
:  Ken came to faith in Jesus Christ while a college student at West Georgia College. As a result, Ken has a passionate desire to see students come to Christ, grow in a God-centered world view and labor in the lives of others. After graduation, Ken took a staff position with Campus Outreach in South Georgia for four years. Ken then began Campus Outreach in Greenville, South Carolina where the Curries lived for ten years (1993-2003) In August 2003, Ken came to Bethlehem to direct the college ministries of BBC through CO Minneapolis. Ken and his wife Theresa have 5 children (Hannah, Taylor, Kenzie, Emily and Austin). He is currently a Master degree student at RTS/Charlotte.
 
Jeff Hardy, Regional Director of Global Missions for Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU)
: Jeff was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for over 12 years, serving on both the college campus and in regional leadership. Three of those years were spent as the Campus Director in East Asia where he led a team of missionaries spiritually and strategically to reach out to the vast student population there. He currently is the Senior pastor of Cross Park Church (PCA) in Charlotte, NC. He received his M.Div. from RTS Charlotte.
 
Matt Howell , RUF Campus Minister at University of Tennessee
: Matt is the RUF Campus Minister at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.  He grew up in Dallas, TX and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2003 where he studied Philosophy and Communication.  After graduation, Matt served as an intern with RUF at Louisiana State University for two years where he developed a heart for college students (and Cajun food).  It was during his internship that he met and married the RUF intern at Emory University, Kathryn, who hails from Memphis, TN and studied Religious Studies at Washington and Lee.  Matt served as the RUF campus minister at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC for 4 years before moving to Knoxville in 2013.  Matt and Kathryn have 2 wonderful children - Zoe Kate (born Sept of 2010) and Reid (born Dec of 2012).
 
Kevin Teasley, RUF Campus Minister at Wake Forest University, Winston Salem, NC
:  Kevin is in his 7th year as the campus minister for RUF at Wake Forest University.  He is a graduate of University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  Prior to coming to serve as the RUF campus minister at Wake Forest, he was the RUF campus minister at Tennessee Tech University for 6 years.   
 
 
Ron Brown, RUF Campus Minister at Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA
: Ron Brown has been Campus Minister for RUF at Covenant since 2006. Prior to this Ron and his wife Susan moved to Tallahassee, Florida to start the RUF ministry at Florida State University.  After 7 years at FSU, Ron spent 11 years working in 2 local churches before returning to campus ministry. The Browns have two children, Chris (19) and Anna Shay (17).  Ron and Susan live on Lookout Mountain and enjoy opening their home to Covenant students.
