Religious pluralism represents one of the most pressing challenges to Christian understanding and mission today. Whether one seeks to minister the gospel in the increasingly “post-Christian” West, where Islam is growing at a faster rate than many Protestant denominations in places like Central Florida, or in the Global South, where the church continues to flourish in the midst of other faiths, the presence of other religions cannot be ignored if we are to serve the Lord intelligently and faithfully. For this reason we are delighted to welcome Dr. Michael Goheen, Jake and Betsy Tuls Chair of Missiology at Calvin Theological Seminary, as he delivers the 2013 Kistemaker Academic Lecture Series on the topic, “The Church and Religious Pluralism: Living Faithfully Amidst the World Religions.” Dr. Goheen is uniquely qualified to address this subject, having served as a church planter, pastor, and preacher pastor in Toronto and Vancouver, and having published on a wide range of topics related to biblical theology, Christian worldview, and the missional church.
Please join us at RTS Orlando as we engage this vital topic in the 2013 Kistemaker Academic Lecture Series. These lectures are free and open to the general public. We look forward to having you join us.
